1.10 Aligning the arm with the machine X axis

After fixing the arm in the machine, align the cube parallel with the machine X axis.

Align the stylus as follows:

1. Loosen the two screws (a) at the slotted holes in the arm connecting base and maintain some

friction on the lower screw (b) (pivot).

2. Turn the arm relative to the screw (b), bringing the stylus parallel with the machine X axis. The

parallelism between the stylus and the machine X axis must be 0.05mm (see Figure 1-8).

3. Tighten the 3 screws fully home and check that the alignment was not changed by this tightening.

4. Put the base in position. Drill holes in the support through the base, using the holes (c) in the base

as a guide. Insert the cylindrical pins supplied in the Kit, then apply an anti-corrosive treatment.
